Openers Shanto, Zakir survive opening hour's trying conditions

After electing to bat first, Bangladesh have started the final Test of the two-match series against India on the right note in Mirpur today.
Openers Najmul Hossain Shanto and Zakir Hasan have been watchful so far, with the Tigers at 37 for no loss after 13 overs of opening day's action. Both openers have hit double digits, with Shanto (22 not out) occupying most of the strike.
Update: Bangladesh lose both openers in quick succession. Left-arm seamer Jaydev Unadkat takes out Zakir (15) with a bouncer that caught the batter by surprise, leading to a easy catch in the slip cordon. The next over, Shanto (24) followed suit as he got trapped in front by off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. The visitors with the advantage now, with Bangladesh at 39 for two. Shakib Al Hasan and Mominul Haque in the middle.
Earlier, Indian seamers, especially Umesh Yadav, attempted to make the most of the early morning conditions and managed to generate lateral movement off the Mirpur surface, which is likely to get less pacer-friendly as time progresses.
Shanto played and missed on several occasions, while Zakir – who had hit a ton on debut in Chattogram -- looked more comfortable than his partner. India missed a review on Shanto, as a Yadav delivery pitched outside the line.
Jaydev Unadkat, back in the India Test team after 12 years, playing his second Test, was introduced in the ninth over and the tall left-armer immediately extracted bounce off the Mirpur pitch, and later got both openers to edge but, fortunately for Bangladesh, the ball fell outside the reach of fielders.
Soon, India skipper KL Rahul opted for spin option in Ravichandran Ashwin who, when asked to ball in the innings 12th, got the ball to turn and bounce in his first delivery.
Bangladesh trail 1-0 in the series, after batting disaster in the first innings in Chattogram led to a 188-run defeat.
