Nawrose-Joy draw Emerging side level against Sri Lanka
Bangladesh Emerging team drew level against Sri Lanka Emerging side in the three-match one-day series following their 21-run DLS win in the second one-day at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium yesterday.
Put in to bat, Sri Lanka managed 297 for seven courtesy of skipper Ahan Wickramasinghe's 77 and Sonal Dinusha's 62. Musfik Hasan bagged three wickets for 56 for Bangladesh.
In reply, the young Tigers lost Amite Hasan for naught in the first over but opener Parvez Hossain Emon, who scored a 28-ball 35, steadied the ship with Prantik Nawrose during a 62-run stand.
Nawrose struck an unbeaten 92, laced with nine fours and a six while skipper Mahmudul Hasan Joy remained unbeaten on 57 during an unbroken 130-run stand before rain halted proceedings with the score on 200 for 2 in 36 overs. Bangladesh Emerging side were well ahead of the DLS target in the 36-over mark and without further play possible, were awarded the win courtesy of DLS method.
The series-deciding final one-day will be played on October 22nd at the same venue.
