Mustafizur flies out to UAE
Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman flew out to the United Arab Emirates in the early hours of Tuesday to play in the second phase of the Indian Premier League, which kicks off on September 19.
The left-arm pacer, who plays for Rajasthan Royals, was supposed to fly on the previous night along with Kolkata Knight Riders' Shakib Al Hasan, but his journey was delayed due to visa issues.
However, the left-armer eventually left the country with his wife and reached UAE to start hotel quarantine before taking part in the top franchise cricket tournament.
Mustafizur is seeing this participation as a preparation for next month's T20 World Cup in Oman and UAE, slated to begin on October 17.
Mustafizur posted a selfie from inside the flight before departure, with this message for his fans. "Heading to UAE to take part in the second phase of IPL. Everyone, kindly pray for me so that I can do well in the tournament and utilize all the experience for Bangladesh in the upcoming #T20WorldCup."
