Mushy shines for BD A
Bangladesh's batting mainstay Mushfiqur Rahim had a fruitful practice ahead of the T20 World Cup next month as the wicketkeeper-batsman struck an unbeaten 70 off 91 balls that helped Bangladesh A to a six-wicket victory against the High Performance (HP) team in the first of their three one-dayers at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today.
Chasing HP's total of 247 all-out in 48.5 overs, Bangladesh A romped to victory in 47.5 overs.
Mushfiqur, who was not amongst the runs in recent outings -- scoring just 39 runs in Bangladesh's five-match T20I series against New Zealand earlier this month -- had requested to get some game time ahead of the T20 extravaganza in Oman and the UAE.
He also practiced at BKSP under the supervision of childhood mentor Nazmul Abedeen Fahim before traveling to the Port City.
Apart from Mushfiqur, left-handed batter Imrul Kayes also played an important knock of 60 runs off 81 balls during their chase of a modest total.
Earlier, HP opener Tanzid Hasan played a solid 93-ball 80-run knock to help their side off to a decent start. But a four-wicket haul from Mosaddek Hossain restricted HP to a mediocre total.
