India’s Yusuf retires from all forms of cricket
Former India all-rounder Yusuf Pathan announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Friday.
"I thank my family, friends, fans, teams, coaches and the whole country wholeheartedly for all the support and love," tweeted Yusuf along with a retirement statement.
The hard-hitting middle order batsman featured in 57 ODIs and 22 T20Is for India after making his debut in 2007. He was part of the Indian team that won the 2007 T20 World Cup as well as the 2011 ODI World Cup.
"The time has come today for me to put a full stop to this innings of my life. I officially announce retirement from all forms of the game," wrote Yusuf in the statement.
"Winning two World Cups for India and lifting Sachin Tendulkar on my shoulders were some of the best moments of my career," he added.
He calls an end to his cricketing career with 810 ODI runs and 236 T20I runs to his name. He also picked up 33 wickets in ODI and 13 in T20Is.
He also won the Indian Premier League three times -- twice playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012 and 2014 and once with Rajasthan Royals in 2008.
