Hyderabad cruise past Chennai
Openers David Warner and Johnny Bairstow hit brisk half-centuries as Sunrisers Hyderabad snapped a three-match losing streak with a six-wicket win over table-toppers Chennai Super Kings in their Indian Premier League encounter in Hyderabad yesterday.
Chasing a modest target of 133, skipper Warner gave the hosts a lightning start with a 25-ball 50, and after Warner was dismissed, Bairstow picked up the pace, guiding the team to victory, with 19 balls to spare, with an unbeaten knock of 61 off 44 deliveries. Earlier, Rashid Khan bowled a crucial spell, taking two wickets for 17 runs as the visitors, playing without regular skipper MS Dhoni, capitulated despite making a good start.
