England’s tour of Bangladesh postponed?
According to a report by ESPNCricinfo, England's upcoming tour of Bangladesh, scheduled for September-October this year, has been postponed indefinitely.
However, when contacted, the Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) media committee chairman Jalal Yunus informed that the board has not yet received any official announcement from their English counterpart.
"We also learned about this through media reports. However, we are yet to get any official announcement regarding this," said Yunus to The Daily Star.
England were scheduled to play three ODIs -- part of the ICC ODI Super League -- and as many T20Is during that tour.
According to ESPNCricinfo's report, the postponement of the tour will allow English players, who were part of the IPL that was postponed in May this year due to a surge in Covid-19 cases in India, to take part in the tournament when it resumes in the UAE on September 19.
