BCB asks Fizz to play WI Tests
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has urged pacer Mustafizur Rahman to participate in all three formats of the West Indies Tour in June.
"We have been thinking about it and we want Mustafizur to take part in all three formats from the West Indies series," BCB sources said.
Fizz, who is currently playing for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), is yet to respond to the board's proposition.
The left-arm paceman has featured in just 14 out of the 39 Tests that Bangladesh played in since his debut back in 2015. He had recently said that he wanted to manage his workload by picking and choosing formats. Following injuries to pacers Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam, who are both unlikely to make it back in time for the West Indies Tests, Fizz's name once again came back into focus before a red-ball assignment.
The Tigers will travel to West Indies in June to play two Test matches, three ODIs and three T20Is. The first Test is set to be played at Antigua on June 16 followed by the second Test at Saint Lucia on June 24. Bangladesh are set to depart for West Indies on June 6.
