Ashraful smashes career-best score in List A format
Former Bangladesh team skipper Mohammad Ashraful registered his career-best score in the List A format, helping his Dhaka Premier League (DPL) side Brothers Union post a mammoth total in their encounter against Rupganj Tigers at BKSP-3 today.
Ashraful's 139-ball 141, which is now his best in List A career surpassing his previous best score of 127, and fifties from Myshukur Rahman and Sri Lanka's Chaturanga de Silva helped Brothers Union post a 309-run total.
Ashraful, who opened the innings for Brothers, smashed 16 boundaries and one maximum during his unbeaten knock.
Brothers, however, had lost opener Imtiaz Hossain in the very first over. But Myshukur and Ashraful added 150 runs for the second wicket to help Brothers recover handsomely.
After Myshukur returned following a 92-ball 68, Ashraful strung an 80-run stand for the third wicket with Minhajul Abedin before starring in another rapid 68-run stand with Chaturanga.
Chaturanga played an explosive knock, of 51 off just 25 deliveries, to propel Brothers' score past the 300-run mark.
