Amite maintains domestic form with maiden List A ton

Amite Hasan picked up his maiden List A ton in the Dhaka Premier League match as his side Khelaghar Samaj Kallayan Samity put up 221 for 7 against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at BKSP today.

Amite's previous performances in the domestic circuit has garnered attention. In the National Cricket League last year, he was the second-highest run-getter with 590 runs in six innings at an average of 59, hitting two tons and two fifties for his side Sylhet Division. The 20-year old right-handed batter has found runs in last year's BCL four-day format too, ending with 322 runs at an average of 64.40 in four matches.

Against Sheikh Jamal, he anchored the innings coming in at number three and kept Sheikh Jamal's Mrittunjoy Chowdhury and Sumon Khan at bay. The right-hander, also a wicket-keeper, notched a fifty-run stand with opener Pritom Kumar before the latter was run-out for 26. A 77-run third-wicket stand with Ashok Menaria (32 off 64) had Khelaghar in a good position to put up a commendable score but part-time spinner Saif Hassan poured water on their plans with a three-wicket haul. From 141 for 3, Khelaghar slumped to 165 for 6.

Amite held on however and reached his first List A ton in 133 deliveries, notching 12 fours on the way. A 45-run stand with Masum Khan Tutu (30 off 22) saw Khelaghar reach 221 for 7 with Amite unbeaten on 107 off 136 deliveries.
