Bangladesh women thump Afghans

The Bangladesh women's football team booked thier spot in the semifinal of the 4th SAFF Women's Championship with an emphatic 6-0 win over Afghanistan in their Group B match at the Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri, India tonight.

Captain Sabina Khatun struck five goals in the 6th, 14th 40th, 44th and 49th minutes respectively, before Firat Jahan Swapna netted the other goal three minutes from time to send Afghanistan packing.

Bangladesh are now on the top of three-team table with a superior goal difference to India, who beat Afghanistan 5-1 on Tuesday.

Bangladesh will now play their final group match against three-time champions India on Saturday to decide the group leaders.
