U-19s play warm-up today
The Bangladesh under-19 team will play the first of three warm up matches, of their ten day training camp ahead of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, against Otago XI at the University of Otago Oval in Dunedin, New Zealand today.
Saif Hasan and his troops are set to play the second and third practice matches against the same opposition on January 3 and 5 before heading to Christchurch for their World Cup campaign.
The junior Tigers will then have two more warm-ups, one against Afghanistan on the 8th and the other against Pakistan on the 10th, before taking the field against Namibia on January 13 in the opening Group-C fixture of the mega event.
The remaining two group matches against Canada and England will be held on January 15 and 18 respectively.
Ahead of their trip to New Zealand, skipper Saif informed that their initial target is to reach the second round of the tournament but also mentioned that they will take the competition one match at a time. According to the right-handed batsman, communication and a balanced team combination are the main strengths of his side.
