Tamim, Mushfiqur to play in Afghanistan Premier League

Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal and wicket-keeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim will feature for Nangarhar in the inaugural Afghanistan Premier League, scheduled to begin from October 5.

Including Tamim and Mushfiqur's Nanarghar, there are four other teams Paktia, Kabul, Balkh and Kandahar withe ach squad consisting of 17 to 20 members. Each squad needs to have five overseas players including one player taken from an Associate nation, picked via a draft system.

The Bangladesh duo have shown promising form in the Bangladesh's recent ODI and T20 victories over West Indies and the duo will feature for the national team in the Asia Cup which is to begin on September 15 at the UAE.

Shahid Afridi, Chris Gayle, Rashid Khan, Brendon McCullum and Andre Russell have been named as 'icon players' of the five teams.
