Tigers choose to bat first in first T20I
Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and chose to bat first in the first T20I against West Indies at the Sylhet International Stadium.
Bangladesh will have a much tougher challenge against the reigning Word Twenty20 champions than in the Test and ODI legs of Wst Indies' tour of the country, which the Tigers aced 2-0 and 2-1 respectively.
Bangladesh have made two changes to the eleven that played their last T20I, against the West Indies in Florida in August. Off-spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz comes in for fast bowler Rubel Hossain while left-arm spinner Nazmul Islam makes way for pace-bowling all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin.
Bangladesh have a good record against the West Indies, having won four and lost four of their eight T20Is so far. The Tigers have better recent memories of the format, having beaten the reigning world champions 2-1 in a three-match series that took place in St Kitts and Florida in August this year.
West Indies, meanwhile, were whitewashed 3-0 in India in November in their last assignment and will desperately want to correct course in their strongest format and also end a torrid tour of Bangladesh so far with a series win.
