BCB still waiting for McKenzie’s confirmation for SL tour
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is still waiting for batting consultant Neil McKenzie's confirmation regarding joining the side in their upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, informed BCB cricket operations chairman Akram Khan.
"Our batting consultant Neil McKenzie has not yet confirmed to us if he will join the side in the Sri Lanka tour. We will be contacting him and in 2-3 days we will be able to know if he is able to join or not. And even if he can not join Bangladesh on the Sri Lanka tour, we still have a few options in our hand," informed Akram to the media.
McKenzie is the designated white-ball batting consultant for the Tigers but had accompanied the team during last year's tour of India on the board's request. It was learned that BCB currently has three options for the role of batting consultant for the Sri Lanka tour. Former New Zealand player Craig McMillan is one of the frontrunners who could replace McKenzie as a batting consultant on the Sri Lanka tour.
Bangladesh are scheduled to play a three-Test series against Sri Lanka starting from October 24.
