Bangladesh’s tour of Sri Lanka postponed
Just a day after the postponement of Bangladesh's home series against New Zealand, Bangladesh cricket Board (BCB) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have mutually agreed to postpone the Tigers' upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, SLC announced via a media release.
"Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce that the Bangladesh Cricket Board has informed SLC that a conducive environment has still not arrived for their players to take part in an international cricket series, purely due to the lack of preparation for its players, caused by the Covid – 19 pandemic," a SLC media release said today.
Sri Lanka and Bangladesh was expected to play a three-match Test series in July, under the ICC World Test Championship. The series has been deferred to a 'mutually planned later date," the press release informed.
