Al Amin given all-clear
Pacer Al Amin Hossain was yesterday cleared to continue bowling by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)'s bowling review committee.
The bowler underwent a bowling action review conducted by BCB computer analyst Nasir Ahmed on January 7 and upon examining the report, the bowling review committee gave him the green signal. Al Amin will now be able to play the ongoing Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), the upcoming Dhaka Premier League as well as being available for national selection.
The pace bowler had been reported for a suspect bowling action in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and he came under the scanner for a particular delivery he had bowled to get the wicket of Ariful Haque.
A source confirmed that Al Amin admitted to the bowling review committee that he had bowled that particular bouncer intentionally and promised that he will not do it again in the future. However, another such occurrence within this year will mean that he will be automatically banned.
He was first reported in August 2014 and after a test at the ICC-accredited centre in Chennai, he was cleared by the ICC in November 2014.
