Female archers join camp

Four female archers yesterday joined the preparation camp for next year's Olympic Games after testing negative in Covid-19 tests.

Iti Khatun, Beauty Roy, Moni Rani Sarker and Diya Siddique underwent the tests at Sir Salimullah Medical College and later joined the camp at the Shaheed Master Ahsan Ullah Stadium in Tongi. This is the second batch of national archery team to join the camp after eight archers including Olympic-qualifier Ruman Sana had joined on August 17. The third batch of four male and two female archers are scheduled to undergo the test on August 29.

The Bangladesh Archery Federation resumed the training camp for next year's Olympics after a four-and-a-half month's break due to coronavirus pandemic.

BAF general secretary and Bangladesh Olympic Association treasurer Kazi Razibuddin Ahmed Chapal, however, tested positive yesterday. BOA vice-president Badal Roy, deputy secretary generals Ashiqur Rahman Miku and Asaduzzaman Kohinoor had tested negative previously.
