Sit around all day

With the upcoming Eid, many of us are looking forward to buying new furniture with the Eid bonus. While buying new beds, dining tables and wardrobes are all good, one home item that often gets overlooked is chairs.
There exist more types of chairs than you think. Each chair design is different, made to serve a particular purpose. We perform various types of roles everyday. And for every role and function, there is a different type of chair.
Bar stools -- tall, narrow stools with a foot rest -- have made their way to our homes. Primarily designed to be used in bars (in front of the counter), this kind of stool is very sleek, convenient and economical in terms of space covered. If you happen to have a kitchen counter in your apartment, bar stools are a kind of chair you must have.
Besides being common and a prop used in numerous movies, every home deserves a rocking chair. After a day's work, perhaps late at night, it is very soothing to just sit and rock gently -- contemplating, relaxing and eventually becoming sleepy.
Rocking chairs look traditional and conservative.
For a jolly and carefree look, bean bags are your answer. It is essentially a bag stuffed with dried beans, PVC pellets, plastic chips or similar material, often used in certain games for children. Bean bag chairs are bigger. They are large, soft and frameless chairs that usually can be moulded to the contours of the occupant.      
A club chair is a design that is both comfortable and elegant. This kind of armchair is a plush one and comes with a low back. The sides are very heavy, tall and thick and the covering is usually made of leather. It's great for watching TV or curling up with a book for long hours.
Deckchairs are another set of leisure chairs. This type of folding chair, usually with a wooden skeleton, has a single strip of a strong fabric as a backrest. As the name suggests, these chairs have primarily been used on the decks of ships. However, you can put a couple of them in the veranda or out on the lawn.  
For spaces in the outdoors (e.g. gardens) and 'semi-outdoors' (e.g. terrace) a bench looks very appropriate. Long enough for a few people to sit together and simple enough to create a charm of its own, benches make a place seem friendly, welcoming and relaxing.
Last but not the leastm there is the executive chair every boss should have. Movies such as The Godfather trilogy and Wall Street show powerful business magnates working from these deluxe, plush and heavy chairs, often behind a large, heavy desk.
Executive chairs have a high backrest and contains extra padding and cushioning both in the armrest and the backrest. Very comfortable to sit on, these chairs portray power and supremacy. The chair you are sitting on reflects your personality, style and mood. Therefore, choose wisely.
