PLOT: Rick owns a club in Casablanca. One day he discovers that the person he used to love, Ilsa, is in town with her husband Victor. Victor is a Czech resistance leader, chased by the Germans. Ilsa knows that Rick can help them so she begs him to help her husband. The movie revolves around Rick's choice and how he decides just how much he loves Ilsa. 

REVIEW: Casablanca is a melodramatic war movie based on Murray Brunette and Joan Alison's Everybody Comes to Rick, an unproduced stage play. This historic movie is directed by Michael Curtiz and he won The Oscar for Best Director because of this film. The plot is set during the 1940s, at the time of World War II, and is all about the ultimate act of love. Everything about this movie is wonderful, including the characters, the actors and of course, the story. It has everything that a movie needs. Romance and drama is rolled into some magnificent plot points. The story of the movie is magical and tragic at the same time. 

Casablanca has an amazing cast. Even the small characters of this movie are brilliant. Humphrey Bogart as Rick shows us how love can be endless. Giving up the woman you truly love so she can be with her man is a selfless and mindful feat, something most people wouldn't be able to do. Ingrid is nothing but a grace to the silver screen. She is a wonderfully gifted and beautiful actress. No one could play the character so perfectly besides her. The chemistry between Rick and Ilsa radiates through the screen. So many best known great lines came out of this movie. 

The movie has won three Oscars for its tremendous quality. It is also very well known for the loveliest pieces of music ever written that were featured in it. Casablanca is so perfect that no one can pick just one single favorite scene from it. This is undoubtedly one of the best timeless masterpieces of American history that will last till eternity.
