Ashley Judd's Lawsuit Partly Dismissed

Ashley Judd had recently filed a lawsuit against Harvey Weinstein, claiming that he had spread lies about her when she rejected his sexual requests and that this hampered her career. However, a part of her lawsuit was dismissed as they did not fall within the scope of the California statute of sexual harassment. When asked, her lead lawyer said, “Nothing about today's ruling changes that Ms. Judd's case is moving forward on multiple claims”. Judd also has renowned director, Peter Jackson on her side. He came forward last year and said that he had deliberately removed Judd from the casting list of Lord of the Rings as a result of what he believed was false information from Weinstein. Weinstein, however, completely denied all accusations. His lawyer said, “We have said from the beginning that this claim was unjustified, and we are pleased that the court saw it as we did”. Weinstein is also facing another criminal trial in New York, as he has been charged with rape and other forms of sexual abuse.
