The roads have traffic jams at intersections, offices are abuzz with voices behind masks, marketplaces have opened up for people to set up shops. I ask, have we gotten used to this pandemic?
I for one am excited that football is back. There is something to cheer for through gloomy days of sleep-eat-work-repeat. The daily numerical update of tests, infections and deaths are exchanging--and I really hope I do not jinx it by any means--between hitting a plateau and going down. The only digits I want to see going upwards are the number of cured patients and the points of my favourite football club in its league table.
Half of 2020 is gone. Just like that, yet probably the most documented and most historic of half years. There's still a long way to go, and I have never prayed with more passion than I do now, for a better half.
