DIU holds discussion on National Budget 2019-20
Faculty of Business & Entrepreneurship of Daffodil International University (DIU) organised a discussion programme titled “National Budget 2019-20: Thoughts and Expectations of Students” on May 12, 2019 at 71 Milonayoton of the university.
MA Mannan MP, Minister of Planning, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as the chief guest. Dr. Fahmida Khatun, Executive Director, CPD; Muklesur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO of Shimanto Bank; Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees; and Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer of DIU were present as special guests. Presided over by Prof. Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, VC, DIU, the programme was also addressed by Prof. Dr. Masum Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Business & Entrepreneurship of DIU. At the beginning, Nurul Mohammad Zayedi, Head, Department of Real Estate presented survey results on the programme.
MA Mannan MP said that our previous poverty rate was 44 percent whereas now it is only 20 percent. Our GDP rate is increasing day by day. Index of education, health, medical and all other sectors are developing. We have to sustain this development.
He also said to the students that we can do a lot without others’ help. The ongoing Padma Bridge project is one of the proven things. In the meantime, he urged the students to concentrate on research and find out problems through research.
