New Year, New Me
“I am going to join the gym.”
“This year, I am going to read one new book, every week.”
Every January, we get to see people make promises to themselves as if the change of a year can change our endless cycle of procrastination. “This year” becomes “tomorrow” and tomorrow becomes the start of another year. At this point, New Year's resolutions are more like a ritual and less like promises to ourselves. Maybe we should have more conservative resolutions to make things more realistic. Like “This year, I am going to finally stop sharing moddhobitto memes” or “2019 will be the year I officially stop creeping out farm animals” or “I won't crack jokes like my New Year's resolution is 1920x1080 pixels.”
It's 2019, brother, 3840x2160 is where it's at.
