Schoolgirl, trader, 4 others murdered in 6 districts
Six people, including a schoolgirl and a trader, were murdered in Comilla, Kurigram, Pabna, Tangail, Bogra and Narail districts yesterday and the day before.
An eight-year-old schoolgirl was found murdered in Nurpur area of Comilla town early yesterday, reports our correspondent.
Daughter of Zahangir Alam of Sadar Dakkhin upazila, Zarin Mushaiba Phool went out of home for private tuition on January 5 and remained missing, said officer in-charge Md Samsuzzman of Kotwali police station.
On information, police recovered Phool's body from a pond in the area and sent it to Comilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
One Zafor Ahmed Rubel, 22, son of Ramizuddin of Chandina upazila, was arrested in this connection, said the OC.
Away in Kurigram, police recovered the body of a medical representative of Ibn Sina Pharmaceutical Ltd from the septic tank at a house in Roumari upazila yesterday, reports our correspondent.
They also arrested one Abdul Kaiyum and his father Abdul Latif of Baghmara village in connection with the killing.
The dead is Omar Faruk, 28, son of Taslim Uddin of Diarchar village, said OC of Roumari police station Mokhlesur Rahman.
On January 9, Abdul Kaiyum, owner of a medical shop, beat up Faruk and hit on the head with a bamboo stick as he charged the monetary value of medicines to the owner. The accused then dumped the body in the septic tank at his house.
In Pabna, criminals strangled a local trader following a dispute over establishing supremacy in Bera upazil a on Wednesday, reports our correspondent.
Police recovered the body of Md Abdul Mannaf, 50, of Bhuiagati village, from a filed in the area in the evening,
Mannaf went missing on January 5, said Md Faruk Hossain, OC of Aminpur police station.
According to our Tangail correspondent, a man was stabbed to death allegedly by his elder brother in Sadar upazila yesterday, reports our correspondent.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Abdullah, 28, son of Nawab Ali of Chorakora village.
Police and locals said Mohammad Manju, 35, attacked Abdullah with sharp weapons, leaving him seriously injured following an altercation over installment of loan in the morning. He was rushed to Tangail General Hospital where the on duty doctors declared him dead.
Police arrested Maznu in connection with the killing, said OC Nazrul Islam of Tangail Model police station.
In Bogra, a missing youth was hacked to death in Sherpur upazila yesterday, reports our correspondent.
Al Mamun, 18, son of Mohammad Ali of Ranabirbala village, went missing on Wednesday evening, said sub-inspector of Sherpur police station Abu Jarra.
In Narail, the body of a young man was recovered from Patbaria Beel in Kalia upazila yesterday afternoon.
Mamun Gazi, 18, son of Kobir Gazi of Pathkhali village, went missing on Monday, reports our correspondent.
The body bore several injury marks, said sub-inspector Rokib of Kalia police station.
