‘When wife throws you lemons, make lemonade’
Arif Alias, whose real name is just that because of a Gmail unavailability, is currently fighting in court for custody of his two children. The husband and wife spilt up over a glass of lemon juice made at home.
The altercation arose when Arif broke many plates while washing dishes because the maid is gone for the pandemic holiday.
The tired wife, Jeorejina , one day grabbed lemons and threw it at him, injuring his left eye. As a result, he often accidentally logged himself out of Zoom meetings with his boss because of a lack of visual coordination.
"When wife throws you lemons, make lemonade," said Arif.
He gave that lemonade to his wife but forgot to add sugar. She was enraged and countered with lemon juice so sour, it shrunk many of his parts to the size and shape of raisins.
It's a sad tale that goes back to pandemics across hundreds of years. Kingdoms have toppled because of the souring of relationships as no one had any sugar to spare. In 2012, the duckface became popular because everyone was sucking on lemons as a fad. It was a terrible year for social media photos.
Arif complains that his eye injury has cost him his job and sugar is now a luxury along the lines of the need to have a fan in the toilet.
Their children are quite happy because now that the parents are fighting, no one is asking them to pay attention to online classes.
