Sandipan's solo album “Bondhu Porobashi” launched
Popular singer Sandipan's seventh solo album “Bondhu Porobashi” was launched at Café 33 in the capital on April 7. Noted singer Subir Nandi with singers Rashed Uddin Topu, Suman Kalyan, Basu Deb and Suman Kumar Saha , cultural personality Shankar Shawjal and owner of G-Series Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan unveiled the album.
The album features eight folk songs that include, “Ekbar Darao Bondhu,” “Ki Jwala Digyala Morey,” “Modhu Koi Koi,” “Poran Bondhurey” and “Sona Bondhu Tui Amarey.”
Several bards of Chittagong and Sylhet region like Lokokobi Abdul Gafur Hali, Askar Ali Pandit, Kabial Ramesh Sheel, Abdur Rashid and Md. Ramij Ali wrote and composed five songs while the rest of the three songs in the album are traditional compositions among which Basu Deb has set one song to tune.
