Saints' tomb turned into a money-spinner
Recently, while traveling in and around Sylhet, I paid a visit to the shrines of Hazrat Shah Jalal and Hazrat Shah Paran. To my utter surprise, I saw numerous notes of Bangladeshi taka on Hazrat Shah Paran's tomb. The question is, does this renowned preacher of Islam need money after his death? The question does not arise. Then why are some people being allowed to do this unethical business? I heard a few people shouting to the visitors, “Majare taka den” (pay money to the shrine). Bangladesh government or local administration of Sylhet should take stern action against these unscrupulous men who are doing this illegal business using the shrine.
