Road crashes kill eight
Eight people were killed and 27 others injured in separate road accidents in the country yesterday.
Our Dinajpur correspondent reports, three persons, including a girl, were killed and 20 others were injured when an overcrowded bus carrying them skidded off the road and fell into a roadside ditch at Bezaimor in Phulbari upazila.
One of the deceased was identified as Munmun Akter, 7, daughter of Mizanur Rahman and Paltan Islam.
The injured were taken to Phulbari Upazila Health Complex and Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile in Chirirbandar upazila, a person was killed and two others were injured when a tractor hit their motorbike at Shakipur village. The deceased was Md Mozahedul Alam Sabuj, 35, of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila. The injured were rushed to the upazila health complex.
Our Bogra correspondent adds, a three-wheeler driver, Ful Mia, 35, of Gabtoli upazila, was killed when an oncoming bus hit the vehicle on Bogra-Naogaon road at Baromail in Dupchanchia upazila.
Our Barisal correspondent adds, two persons were killed after their motorbike fell into a roadside ditch after hitting a tree beside Bishwaser Hut-Razar Char road at Razar Char area in Barisal Sadar upazila.
The dead were Badal Hossain Nowshad, 40, of Charmonai, and the motorcyclist, Bashirul Islam, 26, of Razar Char.
Our Pabna correspondet adds, an unidentified man, aged about 30, was killed while five others were injured as a BRTC bus rammed a human hauler at Amaikola point on Nagarbari-Bogra highway of Santhia upazila.
Two of the injured were admitted to Santhia Upazila Health Complex.
