Road crashes kill 6, injure 36
At least six people died and 36 others were injured in road crashes across the country yesterday and on Tuesday.
In Chapainawabganj, three people died and six others were injured when a goods-laden truck hit a human hauler on Chapainawabganj-Sonamasjid road in Shibganj upazila on Tuesday night, reports our Chapainawabganj correspondent.
The dead were Mohammad Hridoy, Mohhamad Suruj and Ariful Islam Arif.
Police seized the truck, but its driver and helper fled.
An unidentified man died and 30 people were injured in separate incidents in Moulvibazar, according to our Moulvibazar correspondent.
An auto-rickshaw hit the man who was crossing a road in Jugidohor area under Sadar upazila yesterday.
In Habiganj, 30 people sustained injuries as a bus collided with a truck on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Itakhola area under Madhabpur upazila on Tuesday night.
A schoolteacher died on Chittagong-Kaptai road in Hathazari upazila of Chittagong yesterday when a bus hit the CNG-run auto-rickshaw that was carrying her, reports our Chittagong correspondent.
The deceased was Sajeda Begum, assistant teacher at Barighona Government Primary School.
In Kaharol upazila of Dinajpur, a truck ran over a woman early yesterday, reports our Dinajpur correspondent.
Her identity could not be known till filing of this report yesterday.
