Road crashes kill 6
Six people were killed and 21 others injured in road accidents in the country yesterday.
UNB from Kishoreganj reports, three people, including a woman, were killed and 20 others injured when a Habiganj-bound bus plunged into a roadside ditch after the driver lost control over the steering amid dense fog at Manohorpur in Kuliarchar upazila.
Two of the dead were identified as Jasim Uddin, 60, and Omeda Begum, 52.
Eight of the injured were admitted to Bajitpur Jahurul Islam Medical College and Hospital.
Our Benapole correspondent adds, Abdus Salam Babu, 26, son of Abdus Sabur, publicity secretary of Juba League Bagachra ward unit, was killed and a rickshaw-van puller was injured when a bus of Afil Jute Mills hit the vehicle carrying them at Bagachra Bazar in Sharsha upazila of Jessore.
A case was filed.
Our Munshiganj correspondent adds, the driver and helper of a truck were run over by the vehicle which suddenly started operating while the duo were repairing it on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Gazaria upazila.
The driver was Nilu Ahmed, 27, and helper was Md Feroj, 19. Police sent the bodies to Gazaria Health Complex.
