Road crashes kill 3
Three people were killed in separate road accidents in the country yesterday and Saturday.
Our Noakhali correspondent reports, Masud, 28, of Sadar upazila, was killed when a truck hit a three-wheeler carrying him on Maijdee-Sonapur road at Bishawnath in Noakhali yesterday.
Locals caught the driver and handed him over to police.
Our Chittagong correspondent adds, Md Basir, 50, a fish-trader, a resident of the port city, died after the recklessly driven battery-run rickshaw he was riding on veered out of control and overturned in Chaktai area of the city yesterday.
Our Mymensingh correspondent adds, an assistant presiding officer appointed at Gouripur Govt College Centre for upazila election, was killed when his motorbike crashed into a brick-laden lorry on Mymensingh-Kishoreganj road at Jhalua in Nandail upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased was Ripon Kumar Dutta, 35, sub-assistant agriculture officer of Gouripur Agriculture Office.
