RESTAURANT ETIQUETTE
Eating out at restaurants has always been a popular pastime, particularly in Bangladesh where options for recreation are few and far between, but sometimes our behaviour at eateries makes it very difficult for others to have a decent time. Here are a few guidelines for the next time you are at a restaurant. Follow them and you won't be the most hated person there.
Most restaurants play music; this could be English, Bangla or Hindi songs. People enjoy listening to soothing music while they're eating. What they don't enjoy listening to is your loud conversations. This annoys them and makes them want to stuff whatever they're eating into their ears. No one wants to hear you arguing with your significant other while you're on a date. This also counts when you're on the phone. Avoid raising your voice; if you must be loud please refrain from having personal conversations at the diner.
Bangladesh is a crowded country which means restaurants are likely to be crowded as well. Often people (hungry people) walk into a restaurant to find all the seats filled. This is natural, but are you occupying seats unnecessarily? If you're done eating, there's no reason why should stick around for an extra 45 minutes, regardless of how friendly the waiter/waitress is.

Speaking of crowded when the waiter is taking your order, please don't take aeons to decide what you want. While you keep changing from pasta to pizza to a burger or scratching your head trying to decide what dip you want, you are keeping a waiter occupied for too long and there isn't always an abundance of waiters at restaurants. Others (again, hungry people) need to place their orders as well. You are wasting their time and annoying them.
Most restaurants aim to have a family atmosphere and even if there aren't any kids around, please refrain from PDA. People are eating there. Enough said.
Sure kids will be kids but restaurants aren't their playgrounds; we have ball pits for that. When children are throwing food at other people in the restaurant or wailing like the world is about to end, others are unsuccessfully trying to enjoy their food in peace. Sometimes children push the chairs or drop them to the ground solely because they like the (deafening) sound it makes. Please make sure when kids accompany you to a restaurant, they're not behaving like wildlings from GoT.
It's a good idea to tip the person who served you. And with that I'll end this list, have a great restaurant experience.
