Reliving the Liberation War
A 45-minute play “Singhjanir Dukkho Gatha Kingba Punorjagoron Pala”, written and directed by Shamim Sagor, was staged at Zila Shilpakala Academy (ZSA) in Jamalpur on Sunday night. Themed on a torture cell set up by Pakistan army at the degree hostel of Govt. Ashek Mahmud College in Jamalpur town during the Liberation War, the play created shock waves among the audience.
The play was organised by the Shilpakala Academy in association with the local SM Theatre.
Deputy Commissioner Shahabuddin Khan was present as chief guest while Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Anowar Hossain, Shahidul Islam and Tomal Bosh cultural officers of Jamalpur ZSA and Sherpur ZSA respectively were present as special guests.
Thirteen local artistes, students of Govt. Ashek Mahmud College performed in the play.
