Rebel Hazi Selim beats AL candidate

Awami League aspirant Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin lost the Dhaka-7 (Lalbagh) election to its rebel candidate Hazi Selim today.  

Hazi Selim bagged 42,728 votes while Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin won 30,533 in the 10th parliamentary election, amid boycott by the opposition parties.
The BNP-led 18-party opposition alliance and other political parties did not participate in the election demanding polls under a non-party caretaker arrangement.
