Raushan likely opposition leader: Firoz Rashid

Jatiya Party senior presidium member Raushan Ershad is likely to be the opposition leader in the parliament, the party's presidium member Kazi Firoz Rashid said today.

"Since our chairman, HM Ershad, has decided not to join the parliament, Raushan Ershad, being the senior most party leader, will lead us to the Jatiya Sangsad," Rashid, an MP-elect from the party, said emerging from a meeting with Raushan at her Gulshan residence.

Also the wife of HM Ershad, Raushan differed with her husband in joining the controversial parliament election and remained with the polls-time cabinet.

He did not disclose the details on the discussion, also attended by five other lawmakers elect.
