Raina wants fearless cricket

India's stand-in captain Suresh Raina has deemed the three-ODI series against Bangladesh, which begins at Mirpur today, as a good opportunity for youngsters to prove their worth ahead of the World Cup in 2015.
Raina, who will lead a depleted side against Bangladesh in the three-match ODI series, reckons that his side -- most of who have been selected based on their performances in the Indian Premier League -- will put up a good fight against the hosts.
“I think it will be a good contest. Both sides are playing with young players. All these players have done well in the IPL and first-class cricket so we all are looking forward to it,” said Raina.
When asked if India were taking this series lightly, he said, “I don't think so. I think the BCCI took the right decision. You have to give chances to the youngsters. The World Cup is coming ahead and you need to try a lot of players and this will be a good oppurtunity.
“Some of the players are coming back to the Indian team, some of them are getting their chances. It's important to stick together and play fearless cricket. It's a good chance for some of them to cement their places in the team,” said Raina.
“This series is important for us. I think the Bangladesh captain had said that we are coming in with a weak team. I think a lot of players here have done well and it will be a good battle between the two sides.”
