Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today launched a centralised database system that will generate 150 types of information regarding a criminal anywhere in the country.
The database will store information on some 40,000 criminals active throughout the country and will help law enforcers to nab any criminal from anywhere in Bangladesh.
State Minister for home affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal inaugurated the database system in the headquarters of the elite force Rab at Uttara in Dhaka.
The database will generate 150 types of information regarding one particular criminal, officials said at the inaugural programme.
The Rab’s DIG and inspector general of police were present among others in the launching programme.
