“Queen”, “Haider”, “PK” rule at Filmfare

Bollywood comedy drama “Queen” swept the 60th Filmfare Awards on Saturday night, winning the honours in six categories, including for the best director for Vikas Bahl and Kangana Ranaut the best actress, while Shahid Kapoor secured the best actor honour for his role in modern-day adaptation of Shakespearean drama “Haider”.

The runner-up was Vishal Bhardwaj's “Haider” which won awards in five categories including best actress (female) in a supporting role for Tabu and best actor in supporting role for Kay Kay Menon.

 “Queen” also won the award for the best film while Sanjay Mishra-directed “Aakhon Dekhi” was adjudged the best critics' choice film.

The romantic comedy “2 States” and the satirical “PK” -- starring Aamir Khan -- won awards in multiple categories.

Shah Rukh Khan's “Happy New Year” and Priyanka Chopra's “Mary Kom” drew blank in the awards.

Veteran actress Kamini Kaushal was the recipient of Filmfare lifetime achievement award.

The awards for best screenplay and best dialogue went to “PK” --for director Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi.

The best music director's award went to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy for their compositions for the film “2 States”.
