Probe into grenade blast starts
The four-member body, headed by the Commander of Khagrachhari BGB Sector Colonel Khalekuzzaman, yesterday started investigation into the Sunday's grenade explosion incident.
The other members of the committee, which was formed on Sunday night, are Lt Col Mostafizur Rahman, Maj Robiul and ammunition and grenade expert of Khagrachhari BGB sector Maj Amir Hossain.
Contacted, Major Robiul said they visited the explosion spot yesterday morning as part of their investigation.
The probe body was asked to submit its report within five working days, added Major Robiul.
On Sunday, two members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 16 Battalion in Ramgarh were killed and four others injured when a grenade exploded during training in Khagrachhari Cantonment.
After the Namaaz-e-janaza prayer on the battalion's headquarter premises, the bodies of Nayek Subedar Md Abul Kashem and Sepoy Md Hasan of BGB 16 Battalion, were handed over to their family members around 8:00pm on Sunday.
The injured are undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital.
