Pro-AL teachers sweep DU deans' election

Pro-Awami League blue panel teachers yesterday swept the deans' election of Dhaka University, bagging eight out of the ten posts.

The deans elected from the blue panel are Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed of social sciences faculty, Prof Akhteruzzaman of arts faculty, Prof Abdul Aziz of science faculty, Prof Shibli Rubaytul Islam of business studies faculty, Prof Imdadul Haque of biological sciences faculty, Prof ASM Maksud Kamal (uncontested) of disaster science and management, Prof Rafikul Islam of engineering and technology and Prof Nesar Hossain of fine arts faculty.   

Pro-BNP-Jamaat (white panel) candidates Prof Taslima Mansur and Prof Saiful Islam won in the law and pharmacy faculties respectively.
