Xi gave message holding talks with Khaleda: Mosharraf
BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain today claimed that the Chinese President has conveyed a message to the people, holding no talks with the leader of the opposition in the parliament.
“The Chinese president has given importance to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and met her while he denied talks with the leader of the opposition in the house. It is a message to the people of Bangladesh,” Mosharraf said while addressing a programme at the Dhaka Reporters' Unity.
As per the tradition, when presidents of other country visits Bangladesh, they hold talks with the president, the prime minister and the leader of the opposition, Mosharraf said.
“But President Xi Jinping neither pay any heed to the leader of the opposition nor hold talk with her (Raushan Ershad), considering the parliament as unelected,” he added.
Terming the Chinese president’s visit as significant, the BNP leader said China has conveyed a message that the country will remain beside Bangladesh if it faces any crisis in future.
