Caught for vote fraud: man gets 7 days’ imprisonment in Bogura

A man was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment for "vote fraud" during Sherpur municipality polls in Bogura today.

The convict is Abu Saeed (38), a resident of Garuda area in the upazila, reports our Bogura correspondent.

Poll officials caught Saeed due to his suspicious movement when he, wearing mask, went to Sherpur DJ High School around 9:30 am to cast vote, posing as a voter named Bidhan Chandra.

Executive Magistrate Sharmin Akter sentenced him to seven days in prison.

Sharmin Akhter said Abu Saeed was caught red handed while casting the vote of an enlisted voter.
