My first day off in 35 years: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said she took her first day off during her two-week visit to UN and Canada during her 35 years of leadership in the Awami League.
“I took a five-day off from office. My first in 35 years of leadership,” she told journalists during a press conference at Gono Bhaban, which was arranged to brief on her tour.
“But even then, it was for official reasons. I did two hours of office everyday there. I cleared a total of 51 files during my entire trip,” premier Hasina said in the briefing.
The three-time prime minister put her gratitude on her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, who she said had a great contribution for digitalisation of Bangladesh. “Because of digital Bangladesh, I could work from abroad.”
Hasina also president of the ruling Awami League left Dhaka on Sep 14, a day after Eid-ul-Azha, on the trip and returned after 17 days on Friday.
