Militants are being killed in fear of embarrassment: Nazrul
BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan today alleged that the government is killing militants in fear of embarrassment for “its link”.
“Militant link with people in the government may come out if they (militants) are quizzed,” Nazrul Islam said while addressing a function at the National Press Club in Dhaka.
He held the government responsible for the emergence of militancy in the country saying that the roots of militancy will not be eliminated from the country if they are killed intentionally.
“One’s name, whose father belongs to Awami League politics, has already come out for his link with a banned militant outfit,” Khan added.
Blaming the ruling party leaders and activists for getting desperate, Khan said the government is conducting misdeeds and misrules without caring for justice.
Nazrul Islam also called upon the people to root out militancy from the country.
Deshnetri Forum, a pro-BNP platform, organised the programme protesting arrest warrant issued against the party’s senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman.
