AL to see changes for next polls: Obaidul
Newly elected Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said they would bring changes in the party to uphold its image and goodwill ahead of the next general election.
There will be a question over nomination in the next general election against those who will misbehave with people and will tarnish the party image, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo quoting Quader.
He was addressing a press conference at the party chief Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi political office.
Responding to a query, he said the new faces those have become presidiums of the party are experienced in grassroots level politics, the daily said.
Mentioning name of Noufel, son of ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury of Chittagong, Quader said, “Our party chief promoted them (new face) on the basis of their experience in grassroots level politics and dedication.”
When asked about former Chhatra League leaders, he said, “I can at least say the new faces and new blood will be included in the party.”
Quader said his party’s plan is to gear up its daily activities. “Our present aim is at the next general election.”
