Abid, Prince new DU BCL president, secretary

Abid Al Hasan and Motahar Hossain alias Prince have been made president and general secretary respectively of Dhaka University unit Bangladesh Chhatra League today.

Sheikh Russel, office secretary of the ruling Awami League’s student organisation, conformed it to The Daily Star this afternoon.

Earlier on June 11, the student front of the ruling Awami League hosted its Dhaka University (DU) unit’s council for a new committee.

Over 190 CVs have been submitted till last evening on that day for the post of president and general secretary.  

Abid was the sports secretary of the BCL central committee, while Prince was general secretary of the Ziaur Rahman Hall of DU, Russel said.

As per the BCL constitution, the DU committee's tenure is of one year, while that of the central executive committee is two years. But the last DU unit council was held four years ago on June 30, 2011.
