Police yet to arrest rapist of mentally challenged girl

Over two months into the incident, police are yet to arrest the alleged rapist of a mentally challenged 19-year-old girl.
The accused is Masud Rana, 24, son of late Akram Hossain of Singahar village in Adamdighi upazila.
On October 11,  last year Rana violated the girl of the area while she was returning home with goat, said police and family members.
The victim then filed a case with Adamdighi police station against Rana in connection with the incident on October 21.
Police seemed reluctant to arrest the rapist, alleged the father of the girl, expressing frustration.
Contacted, sub-inspector Monirul Islam of the police station said police were raiding different areas to arrest the accused.
Monirul, also investigation officer of the case, said that they were preparing the chargesheet and it would be placed in the court soon.
