Poetry for Peace
A poetry recitation session titled “Poetry for Peace” (Shantir Swapakkhe Kabita) was held at Ganginarpar Shapla Chattar on Friday afternoon.
Kabita Bangla organised the programme with the theme “No heinous acts, rather a country of communal harmony”.
Swatantra Sahitya Patra, Natyangan Natya Paribar and Samokal Suridh Samabesh arranged the programme.
Poet Mohammad Nurul Huda, president of Kabita Bangla central unit presided over the inaugural session.
A poetry recitation was also held marking the occasion.
Poets Mosharraf Karim, Shamsul Fayez, Gausur Rahman, Amjad Dulon, Shibbir Ahmed Liton, Horidas Thakur, Ali Yusuf, Saiful Ehsan Johir, Tareque Ahsan, Motindra Mankhin and Shamitus Sabah Mugdha participated in the poetry session.
Earlier, a discussion was held.
Poet Matin Boiragi, director of Bangladesh Chhara Academy Naser Mahmud, poet Asadullah, poet Jahangir Firoj of Daily Bartoman Bangla, convener of Kabita Bangla Mymensingh unit poet Ashraf Mir and secretary of Mymensingh Press Club Mir Golam Mustafa were the discussants, among others.
The speakers were of the view that the country is in a serious crisis following the ongoing political turmoil. Poets always speak out for peace and stability of the country and they will do so to establish a peaceful Bangladesh, they stated.
Secretary of Kabita Bangla, poet Farid Ahmed Dulal emceed the programme.
