PM greets war-wounded freedom fighters

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday greeted the war-wounded freedom fighters sending them sweetmeats and fruits on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh.

On behalf of the prime minister, her assistant private secretary Saifuzzaman Sikhor and deputy press secretary Ashraful Alam Khokan handed over the sweetmeats and fruits to the war-wounded freedom fighters at their residences in the capital’s Mohammadpur area at noon.

In response, the freedom fighters extended their heartfelt thanks to the premier for remembering them in every festival.

The nation celebrated Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bengali New Year 1421, on Monday with much pleasure, joy and gaiety.
